What We Do
About Us
Who we are
Founded in 1999 by Sipho Shezi — South Africa’s first post-apartheid Director-General of the Department of Public Works — the Sirius Development Foundation was built on a clear conviction: that Africa’s development challenges require more than donor funding and public spend. They require entrepreneurial commitment, local ownership, and the kind of structural thinking that turns infrastructure into genuine community upliftment.

Our Vision
A continent where infrastructure development is driven by local leadership, local ownership, and genuine partnership — and where every project leaves the community it serves more capable, more connected, and more prosperous than it found it.
